I’ve finally added captures of episode 5 of Drop Dead Gorgeous! This was Ashley’s final appearance as Brogan Tully and I was very sad to see her go. You can check out all the captures in the gallery.

Ash shared some nice but cryptic news via Twitter. She was celebrating a job — she later confirmed with me that it is indeed an acting job (my other guess was modeling because — hello the woman is simply fly!) but at this time she can’t share more.

So happy for Ash and I can’t wait to see what it is about and who she’ll play! I knew she’d get something!

Another Brit, The Beautiful Life alumna Ashley Madekwe is the first actress to be cast in ABC’s drama pilot Revenge, written by Swingtown creator Mike Kelley and to be directed by Phillip Noyce. It is a contemporary re-imagening of The Count of Monte Cristo from a female perspective and centers on Emily Thorn, a mysterious young woman who comes to the Hamptons to exact revenge on the people who destroyed her family. Madekwe will play a close friend of Emily who works for the people who wronged her. Word is Kelley, who exec produced the CW’s short-lived Beautiful Life, wrote the character with Madekwe in mind. Madekwe, repped by The Collective and UK’s Gordon and French, also co-starred in the NBC comedy pilot The Pink House and the British series Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

Living orders first drama

UK cabsat network Living has commissioned its first scripted drama, a “glossy” paranormal series for its 2011 line-up.

The channel, part of the BSkyB-owned Living TV Group, has previously relied on acquisitions for its drama slate but is changing gear with Bedlam (6×60′), a drama billed as a “sexy contemporary paranormal series.”

Red Production Company (Queer as Folk, Casanova) has signed on to produce the programme, which will air early next year.

Head of commissioning Mark Sammon and former ITV head of drama Jenny Reeks, who is acting as a consultant, will oversee production for Living. Nicola Shindler executive produces for Red, with Matthew Bird producing.

The plot centres on an apartment block converted from a pre-Victorian lunatic asylum, in which ghost come back to reclaim the property as their own. Charlotte Salt (The Tudors), Will Young (Skins) and Ashley Madekwe (Secret Diary of a Call Girl) are among the talent cast.

Living TV Group’s director of television Claudia Rosencrantz commissioned the series. She said: “We’ve been searching for ages for the right idea to launch Living into original drama, and Bedlam is the perfect fit. It’s sexy, stylish and truly scary.”

This was one well kept secret. Ashley didn’t reveal anything until today and also it was announced via The Hollywood Reporter! “Secret Diary of a Call Girl” co-star Madekwe, repped by Gordon & French and the Collective, will play a neighbor who is from a poor family looking for a wealthy man to marry.

Here’s a description of Jamie… an ambitious and very materialistic woman who comes from a working-class Midwestern family. She has a classic beauty to her and she puts a lot of effort into maintaining it. She plans to eventually get married to a multi-millionaire who can support her.
